 E.  Examine the Aftflap Adjustment

 (1)  
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Examine the adjustment of the aftflap drive mechanism:

 (a)  
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to put the flaps in alternate control.

 (b)  
Make sure that the hooks on the geneva cams are in the released position (Detail D).

 CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.

 (c)  
Use the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to move the ball screw nut electrically to the position shown in Fig. 402.

 (d)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 1)  P415 Power Distribution Center - Right a) 415A18 ALT INBD TE FLAPS

 (e)  
Make sure the aftflap is in the position shown in Section B-B, Fig. 401.

If the dimension is not in the tolerance, do this task: "Aftflap Drive Mechanism Adjustment" (Ref Paragraph 18).

 (g)  
If the dimension is in the tolerance, move the flap control lever to agree with the position of the flaps.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P415 Power Distribution Center - Right
 1) 415A18 ALT INBD TE FLAPS

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU DISARM ALTERNATE CONTROL. THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY TO THE POSITION OF THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (4)  
Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to disarm the alternate flap control.

 (5)  
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system No. 1: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (6)  
Extend and retract the flaps slowly.

 (a)  
Make sure the flaps move smoothly.

 F.
Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
