E. Procedure

If you will install used parts, do this task: "Aftflap Drive Mechanism Inspection" (AMM 27-51-39/601).

Assemble the upstop fitting if it is necessary (Section E-E, Fig. 401):
(a)
Apply a layer of the grease on the bolt (35), bushing (36), and upstop roller (33).
(b)
Put the bushing in the roller.
(c)
Install the bolt through the upstop supports (37 and 30), the lubrication fitting (34), and the bushing (36).
(d)
Install the washer (31) and the nut (32).
(e)
Tighten the nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 N-m).
(f)
Install the cotter pin in the nut.

Install the upstop fitting:
(a)
Put the upstop fitting (21) on the main carriage.
1) Attach the upstop fitting with bolts (38 and 39), washers (28) and nuts (29).
NOTE: Make sure the bolt heads are in the correct
____ direction.
(b) Tighten the two nuts (29) to 480-600 pound-inches (54-68 N-m).
