WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the inboard flaps and attach a DO-NOT-MOVE tag.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system No. 1: "Depressurize Hydraulic Systems" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Install the support equipment:
(a)
Install the aft clips on the midflap (Fig. 401).
(b)
Attach the strongbacks to the midflap.
(c)
If you cannot install the strongbacks, do this task: "Inboard Foreflap Removal" (Ref/27-51-02/401).
(d)
Do these steps to attach the load positioner and the spreader bar to the strongbacks on the midflap (Fig. 401): 1) Follow the instructions on the instruction plate on the
spreader bar to put the adjust-a-leg sling into the correct
position. 2) Move the counter weight to make the spreader bar level. 3) Attach the load positioner and spreader bar to the
strongbacks.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE MORE FORCE THAN IS NECESSARY. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS.
(e) Use an overhead crane to hold the weight of the flaps until you can turn the rollers on the forward bogie.

Remove the forward bogie from the inboard flap (Fig. 402):
(a)
Remove the four bolts that attach the cross tie fitting to the bogie.
WARNING: HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE FLAPS WHILE YOU REMOVE THE SUPPORT
_______ PINS. THE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b) Remove the support pins from the bogie:
1) Remove the bolt and the nut from the nut on the support pin.
