(1)
Clean the paint from the bolt holes and all used bolts for the attachment fitting.

Install the attachment fitting (Section E-E, Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the attachment fitting on the flap track.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ATTACHMENT
_______ FITTING AND THE FLAP TRACK IS NOT MORE THAN 0.003 INCH AFTER YOU INSTALL THE SHIMS. THE ATTACHMENT FITTING CAN BE DAMAGED.
1) If it is necessary, remove 0.003 inch laminations from the shims to make sure the clearance between the attachment fitting and the flap track is not more than 0.003 inch.
2) Install the shims with the wet primer. 3) Put the attachment fitting on the flap track and install the bolts with the wet primer.
4) On airplanes with lockwire bolts, put the attachment fitting on the flap track and install the lockwire bolts with wet sealant.
5) Tighten the bolts: a) Tighten the six bolts (1) to 170-210 pound-inches (19-24 N-m). b) Tighten the six bolts (2) to 475-525 pound-inches (54-59 N-m).
(b) Attach the fixed drive link to the attachment fitting (Section D-D): 1) Put the fixed drive link in its position and install the
pin.

2) Install the bolt, washers and nut on the attachment fitting. 3) Tighten the nut to 60-85 pound-inches (7-10 N-m).

Lubricate the pin at the attachment fitting.

Adjust the inboard flap track fairing (AMM 27-51-26/501).

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

OUTBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRING SUPPORT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are 11 tasks in this procedure. There are tasks to remove and tasks to install the five parts of the fairing support system. There is also a task to adjust the fairing.
B. There is a task to remove and a task to install these parts on the outboard flap track fairing:

The Fairing Support Fitting

The Adjustable Rod

The Fixed Drive Link

The Fairing Attachment Fitting.
