Install the snubber block and shims on the outboard flap:
(a)
Remove the snubber block and shims if they are installed.
CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE
DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.
(b)
Move the flaps and make sure the fairing moves correctly.

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.
(d)
Install the snubber block, with the chamfer forward (Detail D):
1) Install the correct number of shims to make sure the movement of the spring is in the limits shown in Detail D.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the flaps.

Adjust the doors on fairings No. 1 and 8:
(a)
Adjust the forward door link to its maximum length and install the link (if it is necessary).
(b)
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.
(c)
Adjust the forward door link until the secondary door is aligned with the fairing, if it is necessary.
NOTE: Do not turn the forward door link more than 1/2 turn.
____ The bulb seal on the forward edge of the door must touch the aftflap.
Do not adjust the forward door link if there is not clearance between the seal and the aftflap.
(d)
Tighten the locknuts.
(e)
Install the lockwire on the checknuts.

Extend and retract the flaps and make sure the fairing moves smoothly.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

OUTBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRINGS - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure; an inspection of the outboard flap track fairing. To do the inspection, you measure the inner or outer diameters of the parts which attach the flap track fairings. The parts include the bushings, bolts, bearings, and pins.
B. The inspection is usually done before you install a fairing. You must remove the fairing to do the inspection.
