Prepare for the Removal

(1) Pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
(2)
Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the inboard flaps.
(3)
Release the pressure in hydraulic system No. 1 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the access panels as necessary:

E. Remove An Inboard Flap Track Fairing
S 024-006
(1) Remove the fixed fairing (1) (Fig. 403).
NOTE: Access to the movable fairing hinge bolts is better with
____
the fixed fairing removed.
(a)
Remove the bonding jumper (4).
(b)
On fairings 4 and 5, remove the nut which attaches the lube fitting to the fixed fairing.
(c)
Remove the retainer (3) from the forward attach points.
NOTE: There are two retainers on fixed fairings No. 3 and 6
____ and one retainer on fixed fairing No. 4 or 5.
(d) Remove the tiebolts (2) from the fixed fairing.
NOTE: There are two tiebolts on fixed fairings No. 3 and 6 and
____ one tiebolt on fixed fairings No. 4 or 5.
(e)
Remove the bolts (6) from three adjustable rods (5) at the aft end of the fixed fairing.
(f)
Lower the fixed fairing from the airplane.
(g)
Remove the bushings (7) from the attach fittings on the adjustable rods.

(2) Attach a bootstrap clamp to the flap track (Fig. 402).
NOTE: Follow the instructions with the bootstrap clamp to install
