1. General_______
A. There is a task in this procedure to remove corrosion from the inboard flap track. The procedure has these parts.

The removal of the foreflap carriage stop

The removal of the corrosion from the flap track

The preparation of the cleaned area
(4)
The installation of the foreflap carriage stop.

(1)
Do this task: Foreflap Carriage Stop Removal" (AMM 27-51-22/401).

(2)
Remove the corrosion from the flap track surface:
(a)
Remove the corrosion from the top surface of the flap track (SOPM 20-10-02): 1) Hand clean or machine the flap track surface to remove the
corrosion. 2) You can remove a maximum of 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) of the material from the flap track. Keep a 63-microinch
1.6 micron) finish.
(b)
Shot-peen the reworked surface (SOPM 20-10-03).
(c)
Apply a low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plate to the reworked surface (SOPM 20-42-10).

Remove the corrosion from the stop mount holes (if it is found):
(a)
Ream the holes to a 1/16-inch (1.6 mm) oversize to remove corrosion and to prepare to install the bushing.

(b)
Apply a low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plate to the holes (SOPM 20-42-10).
(c)
Make bushings from 17-4 PH CRES with an inner diameter that is the same as the bolts and with a 0.0003 to 0.0014 inch
(0.008 to 0.036 mm) interference fit.
(d)
Apply a low hydrogen embrittlement cadmium plate to the bushings (SOPM 20-42-10).
(e)
Install the bushings in the mounting holes.

Finish the Repaired Areas:
(a)
Apply one layer of epoxy primer to the cleaned area.
(b)
Let the primer dry.
(c)
Apply one layer of polyurethane enamel.
(d)
Let the enamel dry.

(5) Do this task: "Foreflap Carriage Stop Installation" (AMM 27-51-22/401).
