OUTBOARD AFTFLAP DRIVE MECHANISM - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are 15 tasks in this procedure. There are tasks for the removal and tasks for the installation of the seven components of the outboard aftflap drive mechanism. There is also a task to adjust the aftflap drive mechanism.
B. There are removal and installation procedures for these components:

The Midflap Crank
(2)
The Pushrod
(3)
The Actuator Rod
(4)
The Midflap Crank Attach Fitting
(5)
The Geneva Cam
(6)
The Upstop Fitting
(7)
The Aft Roller Support
C.
When you remove or install the midflap crank, the pushrod, the actuator rod, or the midflap crank attach fitting, it is necessary to remove or install one or more of the others.
D.
You can remove and install the upstop fitting, and the aft roller support independently of all other components.
E.
You must first remove the midflap assembly and the carriage from the flap track to remove and install the geneva cam.
F.
The aftflap drive mechanism adjustment procedure has these parts:

The movement of the outboard flaps

The manual movement of the aftflaps

An adjustment of the length of the actuator rod

An adjustment of the bulb seal

(1) Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system No. 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the outboard trailing edge flaps.
