Remove the tools from the ball screw and the flap track.

Adjust the Ball Screw Flap Up Position

 (1)  Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
 "Pressurize Hydraulic Systems" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 CAUTION:_______MONITOR THE FLAP MOVEMENT CAREFULLY. THE FLAPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY INCORRECTLY ADJUSTED COMPONENTS.
 (2)  
Remove the DO-NOT-MOVE tag and put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Make sure the clearance between the universal joint stop and ball screw nut stop is 1/4 to 3/4 turn (0.54 to 0.90 inch (13.7-22.9 mm) on inboard flap transmissions and 0.45 to 0.74 inch (11.4-18.8 mm) on outboard flap transmissions).

Adjust the ball screw if the clearance is out of the tolerance:

 (5)  
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
 "Depressurize Hydraulic Systems" (AMM 29-11-00/201).


 (a)  
Adjust the ball screw: 1) Disconnect the torque tubes from the transmissions.


 NOTE: Do not turn the drive system with components
____ disconnected. It will be necessary to adjust the flap drive system.
 2) Turn the transmission until the universal joint stop touches the ball screw nut stop. 3) Make an index mark on the transmission coupler and the housing. 4) On an inboard flap, turn the transmission one full turn plus 19 teeth at the coupler. 5) On an outboard flap, turn the transmission one full turn plus 24 teeth at the coupler.
 6)  Install the torque tubes on the transmission. a) Install the three screws. b) Install the lockwire on the screws.
 (b)
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (c)  
Extend and retract the flaps.

 (d)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 (e)  
Make sure the clearance between the ball screw nut and the universal joint is in the limits.

 (6)  
Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit detent to extend the flaps and attach a DO-NOT-MOVE tag.

 I.  
Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
 "Depressurize Hydraulic Systems" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Do this task to lubricate the universal joint and ball screw nut: "Trailing Edge Flap System Lubrication" (AMM 12-21-20/301).

Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
 "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (4)  
Remove the D0-NOT-MOVE tag and extend and retract the flaps.

 (a)  
Make sure the flaps move smoothly.
