Remove the foreflap carriage and toggle (Ref 27-51-24/401).

Remove the flap transmission and ball screw (Ref 27-51-33/401).

Attach a load positioner to a hoist above the wing.

Prepare the sling for the removal of flap track 3 (Fig. 402).

Move the balance weight to the left side of the sling.
(b)
Attach the load positioner to the left side of the lift lug on the sling.

Prepare the sling for the removal of flap track 6.

Move the balance weight to the right side of the sling.
(b)
Attach the load positioner to the right side of the lift lug on the sling.

Lower the sling to the position to attach the flap track.

Turn the hand knob at the bottom of the sling to adjust the clamp for the width of the flap track.

Make sure the distance is 104.6 inches (265.7 cm) between the edge of the clamp and the centerline of the forward hinge of the flap track.

Turn the hand knob to tighten the clamp on the flap track.

NOTE: Do not use a tool to tighten the hand knob.

Remove the bolts, washers and the nuts.

A AND B IS 0.01 TO 0.09 INCH
THE BUSHING MUST NOT EXTEND ABOVE THE SKIN
MEASURE WITH THE FLAP TRACK FULLY SUPPORTED BY MOUNTING BOLTS. DESIGN LIMITS 0.002 TO
0.045 INCH BETWEEN TRACK AND BEARING WASHER. THE MAXIMUM WEAR IS A 0.060 INCH GAP. MEASURE FROM THE FORWARD SIDE OF THE FLAP TRACK, DUE TO THE TAPERED TOP SURFACE.
