E. Install the Aft Roller Support Frame

If it is necessary, remove the sealant and the corrosion preventive compound from the aft roller support frame.

Adjust the aft roller support frame (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the aft roller support (19) on the flap track. 1) Install the shims (25) as shown on Section C-C.
(b)
Hold the support frame in its position and measure the dimension as shown in Section C-C. 1) If the dimension is not in the tolerance, add or remove
shims if it is necessary.
NOTE: The maximum permitted clearance between the shims
____ and the flap track before you tighten the bolts is
0.002 inch (0.05 mm).
(c) Apply a layer of the primer to the shims and let it dry.

Install the aft roller support frame:
(a)
Apply a layer of the sealant to the surfaces of the support frame, the shims and the track.
(b)
Attach the aft roller support with eight bolts (22), washers (23) and nuts (24).

Assemble The Roller, if it is Necessary

If you will install used parts, do this task: "Aftflap Drive Mechanism Inspection" (AMM 27-51-39/601).

Assemble the roller (Section G-G):
(a)
Clean and fill the shaft with the corrosion preventive compound.
(b)
Put the shaft shaft (50) into the aft roller support (54): 1) Attach the shaft with a washer (51) and a nut (53).

2) Tighten the nut (53) to 200-500 pound-inches (22-56 N-m).
NOTE: Install a washer (52) if it is necessary to get the

correct torque.
3) Install the cotter pin.
(c) Install the roller (46): 1) Apply a layer of the primer to the roller (46). 2) Attach the roller (46) to the shaft (50) with a washer (49)
and a nut (47). 3) Tighten the nut (47) to 150-300 pound-inches (17-34 N-m).
NOTE: Loosen the nut to align the cotter pin hole if it is

necessary.
