On fairings No. 2 and 7, If you will disconnect the movable fairing at the flap track and fixed drive link, do the following (Fig. 403, View C): 1) Put padding inside the movable fairing to protect the
linkage assembly and fairing skin from scratches and abrasions. 2) Remove the bolt that attaches the drive rod to the midflap fitting. 3) Disconnect the fixed drive link from the flap track (View E-E). 4) Remove the bolt (69), nut (70), and washers (71) that hold the link pivot pin in place.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE LINK PIVOT PIN, THE FLAP DRIVE
_______ LINK WILL SEPARATE FROM THE FLAP TRACK. BE PREPARED TO LOWER THE LINKAGE ASSEMBLY ONTO THE PADDING IN THE MOVABLE FAIRING. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE LINKAGE ASSEMBLY, DAMAGE TO HARDWARE COULD OCCUR.
5) Remove the link pivot pin (68) from the joint.
(d) If you will disconnect the movable fairing at the fairing fitting and the support fitting, remove the support fitting from the fairing fitting: 1) Hold the fairing in its position.
NOTE: The fairing weighs approximately 80 pounds (36 kg).

2) On fairings No. 1 and 8, remove the two bolts (25 and 30), washers (26 and 29), bushings (24, 27, 28 and 31), washers (23 and 32) and nuts (22 and 33).
3) On fairings No. 2 and 7, remove the two bolts (25 and 30), washers (26 and 29), bushings (24, 27 and 28), washers (23 and 32) and nuts (22 and 33).
(e) Remove the two bolts (48 and 49), washers (47 and 50), bushings (46 and 51), washers (44 and 52), and nuts (45 and 53) which attach the movable fairing to the hinge (Section A-A, Fig. 403).
