 OUTBOARD FLAP TRACK - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two parts to the outboard flap track inspection/check. In the first part you measure the inner and outer diameters of the fuse bolt and its related parts. In the second part you measure the attachment fittings and their related parts.
 B.  This procedure is usually done before the flap track is installed. The flap track must be removed to do the check of the fuse bolt area.

 (1)  
Micrometer - 0 to 1 inch (0 to 3 cm), To measure inside and outside dimensions

 (2)  
Micrometer - 1 to 2 inch (2 to 5 cm), To measure inside and outside dimensions

 (1)  
Remove an outboard flap track (Ref 27-51-27/401).

 S 226-003

 (2)  
Examine the outboard flap track fuse bolt and related parts for worn parts.

 (a)  
Remove the parts to be measured.

 (b)  
Measure the parts.

 NOTE: Use a micrometer and/or a vernier caliper.

 (c)  
Compare the measured dimensions to permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.

 (d)  
Repair or replace the parts which are not in the tolerance, as shown in Fig. 601.

 (e)  Install the parts.

 (3)  
Examine the attach fitting bearing plates for worn areas.

 (a)  
Let the mounting bolts hold the weight of the flap track.

 (b)  
Make sure that the clearance between the flap track top surface and the bearing plate is in the tolerance shown on Section A-A, Fig. 601.

 (c)  
Measure the clearances as shown in Fig. 601.

 (d)  
If the clearances are not in the permitted limits, examine the parts for worn areas.

 (e)  
Replace the parts if it is necessary.

 (4)  
Install an outboard flap track (Ref 27-51-27/401)

1  FLAP TRACK TO ATTACHMENT FITTING WEAR. 2 THE SUM OF THE CLEARANCES A AND B BETWEEN MEASURE WITH THE FLAP TRACK FULLY SUPPORTED THE FLAP TRACK AND THE VERTICAL FLANGE OF BY MOUNTING BOLTS. DESIGN LIMITS 0.002 TO THE BEARING PLATE HAS A DESIGN TOLERANCE
0.045 INCH (0.005 TO 0.114 cm) GAP BETWEEN OF 0.01-0.05 INCH (0.03 TO 0.13 cm). THE BUSHING AND BEARING WASHER. MAXIMUM WEAR MAXIMUM TOLERNCE IS 0.07 INCH (0.25 cm).
