_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU DISARM ALTERNATE CONTROL. THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY TO THE POSITION OF THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.

Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to disarm the alternate control.

Extend and retract the flaps slowly.

Make sure the flaps move smoothly.

Do this task to lubricate the aftflap drive mechanism: "Trailing Edge Flap System Lubrication" (AMM 12-21-20/301).

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Move the flaps to the correct position (Fig. 401):
(a)
Make sure that the two actuator rods (2) are disconnected from the aftflap.
(b)
Make sure the aftflap is attached to the midflap.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE AFTFLAP ARMS TOUCH THE MIDFLAP. THEY WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MIDFLAP.
(c)
Make sure the two actuator rods will not move when you move the flaps.
