Remove an Outboard Flap Track Fairing
S 014-006
(1) Remove the fixed fairing (4) from the outboard flap track
(Fig. 401):
NOTE: Access to the hinge bolts for the movable fairing is better
____
with the fixed fairing removed.
(a)
Remove the screw (6), washer (7), and nut (8) to disconnect the bonding jumper (5).
(b)
Remove the two bolts (1) that hold the retainers (2) at the forward attach points.
(c)
Remove the retainers.
(d)
Remove the two tiebolts (3).
(e)
Remove the bolts (13), washers (12) and (11), and nuts (10) from the three adjustable rods (9) at the aft end of the fairing.
NOTE: Hold the fairing in its position.

(f)
Remove the bushings (14) from the attach fittings for the three adjustable rods.
(g)
Lower the fixed fairing from the airplane.

(2)
Attach the support equipment to the movable fairing (Fig. 402):
(a)
Attach a bootstrap clamp to the flap track.
NOTE: Follow the instructions on the bootstrap clamp.

(b) Attach the two fishpole hoists to the clamp and the handling dolly.
NOTE: Make sure the hoist attach point is correctly engaged
____
in the keyhole slot.
(c) Install the handling dolly on the movable fairing:
1) Use the guide ropes to help you put the dolly in the correct position.

2) Attach the aft end and the top of the fairing with the straps.

Remove the movable fairing from the outboard flap track (Fig. 403):
(a)
Remove the screw (11), washer (12), and nut (13) to disconnect the bonding jumper (10) from the movable fairing (14).
(b)
On fairings No. 1 and 8, disconnect the forward door link (34) from the movable door mechanisms: 1) Remove the bolt (38), washer (39), bushing (37),
