(3) S 864-004Use the STAB TRIM ALTN switches to set the stabilizer to the neutral (approximately 3 units of trim).
(4) S 864-005Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.
(5) S 864-006Set STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on control stand to CUTOUT.
(6) S 864-007Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: (a) P180, DC Power Distribution Panel 1) 180H8, ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 1 2) 180E7, ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2 3) 180H23, ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3 4) 180E22, ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 4 (b) P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 7E7, L STAB TRIM S/O VLV 2) 7E20, R STAB TRIM S/O VLV
(7) S 864-008Do this task: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(8) S 864-009Do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(9) S 014-010Open the access panels (AMM 06-09-07/201).

Install the rig pin E-1 in the elevator forward quadrant. S 494-044

Install the rig pin E-2 in the elevator aft torque tube.

Remove the control rod:
(a)
Remove the bolts, washers, and nuts that connect the control rod ends to the lever assemblies.
(b)
Remove the control rod.

Remove the lever assembly:
(a)
Disconnect the control rods from the lever assemblies.
(b)
Remove the bolt, washer, and nut from the lever assembly.
(c)
Remove the lever assembly from the support housing.

Remove the adjustment control rod:
(a)
Remove the bolts, washers, and nuts from the two ends of the adjustment control rod.
(b)
Remove the adjustment control rod.
