In the auto flight mode, electrical signals generated by the autopilot pitch channels operate the elevator autopilot servo modules. Inputs are then conveyed to the elevator aft torque tube thru control rods, and to the inboard elevator PCP control valve linkages via the inboard elevator PCP control valve linkages. See 22-12-00/001 for operation of the elevator autopilot servo modules.

Manual Control Operation
(1)
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
WARNING: AILERONS, ELEVATORS, RUDDERS, TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND SPOILERS
_______ ARE FULLY POWERED. ENSURE PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE PROVIDING HYDRAULIC POWER. ELEVATORS WILL MOVE RAPIDLY TOWARDS NEUTRAL.
(2)
Pressurize the hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, 3 and 4
(Ref 29-11-00/201).
(3)
Deflect elevators upwards by pulling aft on either control column.
NOTE: Force required to displace control columns increases
____ progressively as amount of displacement from neutral detent increases in either direction.
(4) Return elevators to neutral by allowing control columns to return to neutral detent.
NOTE: Elevators may not return completely to neutral without the
____
pitot system being pressurized.
(5)
Deflect elevators downwards by pushing forward on either control column.
(6)
Return elevators to neutral by allowing control columns to return to neutral detent.
NOTE: Elevators may not return completely to neutral without the
____
pitot system being pressurized.
(7)
Release pressure in the hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 if no longer required (Ref 29-11-00/201).
(8)
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00/201).
