Loosen the transmitter clamping screws.

Adjust the transmitter body to get an indication of 0 |0.2 degrees on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page.
(c)
Tighten the transmitter clamping screws to 5-10 pound-inches.

Adjust the control rod.
(c)
Install the lockwire on the knurled thumb nut of the control rod.

RUDDER/ELEVATOR SURFACE POSITION DIGITIZER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this subject. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the rudder/elevator surface position digitizer (SPD) circuit card YM5A001 (which is referred to as the "card YM5A001"). The procedure has these parts:

The removal of the card YM5A001
(2)
The installation of the replacement card YM5A001
(3)
A check to make sure that rudder and elevator position readouts show on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page.
B.
The card YM5A001 is in the aft surface position digitizer card file M8011 (which is referred to as the "card file M8011"). The card file M8011 is on the E8 aft equipment rack.
