Do this task to release the pressure for the applicable hydraulic system: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201):
(a)
For the left outboard elevator PCP; Do these steps: 1) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 1. 2) Move the control column in the two directions to remove all
the remaining pressure in the PCP 3) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 2.
(b)
For the right outboard elevator PCP; Do these steps: 1) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 4. 2) Move the control column in the two directions to remove all
the remaining pressure in the PCP 3) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 3.

Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel in SHUTOFF.

Install the outboard elevator holding tool (Fig. 201):

Manually move the outboard elevator to the full up position.
(b)
Move the summing lever (5) to follow the outboard elevator movement.
(c)
Hold the outboard elevator in the full up position.

Install the outboard elevator holding tool.

(1) Disconnect the hydraulic lines H1, and H2 at the outboard elevator PCP (1).

Connect the hydraulic lines and the cap ports.

Install the handling cradle on the outboard elevator PCP (Fig. 201).

Lift the weight of the outboard elevator PCP.
NOTE: Each outboard elevator PCP weighs approximately 65 pounds.

Remove the outboard elevator PCP:
(a)
Use the spanner wrench to remove the bolt (11).
(b)
Remove and keep the bushings (6) from the inboard lug of the elevator attachment fitting.
(c)
Use the torque wrench adapter to remove the trunnion bolts (3).
(d)
Lower the handling cradle and the outboard elevator PCP.
(e)
Move and turn the aft end of the handling cradle down until it is clear of the structure.
(f)
Remove the outboard elevator PCP (1) from the handling cradle.
