(a)
Set the STAB TRIM 3 switch on the control stand to ON.
(b)
Use the STAB TRIM ALTN switches on the control stand to set the stabilizer at 7-8 units of trim.
(c)
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the captain's control wheel to the NOSE DN position until the stabilizer stops.
(d)
Set the STAB TRIM 3 switch to CUTOUT.
(e)
Make sure the "B" dimension is 2.46 +/- 0.60 inches (62.5 +/-
15.2 millimeters).
(f)
Make sure the stabilizer position indicators show 0.80 | 0.25 units of trim.

K. Do a Test of the Elevator Control Actuated Limit Switches

(1)
Do a test of the elevator control actuated limit switches:
(a)
Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on the control stand to ON.
(b)
Use the STAB TRIM ALTN switches on the control stand to set the stabilizer at 7-8 units of trim.
(c)
Use clamps to attach the protractor against the aft face or the forward face of the control column.
(d)
Measure the neutral angle on the protractor. 1) Adjust the protractor to the center. 2) Make a record of the neutral angle on the protractor.
(e)
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the captain's control wheel to the NOSE DN position.
(f)
While the stabilizer moves, pull the captain's control column slowly aft until the stabilizer stops. 1) Hold the control column in this position. 2) Make sure the stabilizer position indicators on the control
stand are not at the APL NOSE DN limit.
(g)
Measure the control column move from the neutral position. 1) Adjust the protractor to the center. 2) Make a record of the angle on the protractor and subtract
it from the neutral angle. 3) Make sure the difference is 3.7-5.5 degrees.
(h)
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the captain's control column to the NOSE UP position.
(i)
While the stabilizer moves, push the captain's control column forward until the stabilizer stops. 1) Hold the control column in this position. 2) Make sure the stabilizer position indicators are not at the
APL NOSE UP limit.
