D. Remove the Nonreaction Hinge

Remove the hinge bolt (6) and the bushings (3).

(2)
Remove the bolts (1) which attach the hinge to the elevator front spar.

Move the hinge from supporting hinge fittings down to disengage it.

D. Install the Nonreaction Hinge
S 224-013
(1)
Examine the hinge and the hinge fittings for worn parts
(AMM 27-31-03/601).
(a)
Replace the part if it is worn.
S 424-014
(2)
Install the nonreaction hinge:
(a)
Align the hinge with the holes on the elevator front spar.
(b)
Install the bolts (1) and washers.
(c)
Tighten the bolts (1) equally.
(d)
Apply a layer of grease to each bushing (3).
(e)
Clean the mating surfaces for the bonding jumpers.
(f)
Install the bushing in the hinge fitting.
