NOTE: Missing Power Control Package, rod end and trunnion bearing
____ dust seals are not reasons for removing the control package. Seals should be replaced at convenience on overhaul. The bearings will generate a small amount of dark colored powder which may be observed at the edge of the bearing lines. This powder is the normal product of the self lubricating bearing liner.

Set the stabilizer to the neutral rig position (AMM 27-41-00/201).

Make sure the stabilizer trim position indicators on the P8 control stand shows 3.00 units of trim.

Make sure the B dimension on the stabilizer jackscrew is
7.42 |0.05 inches.

Do this task to release the pressure for the applicable hydraulic system: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201):
(a)
For the left inboard elevator PCP; Do these steps: 1) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 1.

2) Move the control column in the two directions to remove all the remaining pressure in the PCP. 3) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No.2.
(b) For the right inboard elevator PCP; Do these steps: 1) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 4. 2) Move the control column in the two directions to remove all
the remaining pressure in the PCP. 3) Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 3.

Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.

Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on the control stand to CUTOUT.
