 A.  Functional Description
 (1)  
The stall warning system is enabled when airspeed is greater than 140 knots or when pitch angle is greater than 5°. Each SWMC receives data from the ADC and FCU's along with other sources. This information is processed by the computer to determine if the airplane is approaching a stall condition. The system remains enabled until airspeed becomes less than 40 knots.

 (a)  
When flaps are up, the AOA angle required for shaker activation is a function of the airspeed.

 (b)  
When flaps are not up, the AOA angle is a function only of the

When airplane flight conditions approach a stall due to a high angle of attack or low airspeed, 2 solid state output switches in the SWMC are turned on to supply a ground to the shaker motors. Each motor turns the weighted ring in the shaker which vibrates the control column.

 (3)  
Normally, each SWMC will activate both shakers simultaneously. However, if one is not activated, both control columns will still shake since they are connected together.

 (1)  Operation of the stall warning system is automatic. No control functions are exercised.
