(6) S 864-026Move the elevator to the neutral position.
(7) S 434-027Install the input control rod bolt (37) with the bolt head outboard in the input control rod.
(8) S 434-028Install the washer (38) and the nut (39). (a) Tighten the nut (39).
(9) S 094-029Remove the support from the outboard elevator PCP.

Install the bolt (18), washer (19), and nut (20) to connect the control rod (17) to the elevator front spar.

Tighten the nut (20).

Remove the sling bolts and fittings.

ELEVATOR HINGE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are four tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the elevator nonreaction hinges. Also there is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the elevator reaction hinges. The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The preparation for the removal of the elevator nonreaction hinge
(2)
The removal of the nonreaction hinge
(3)
The installation of the replacement nonreaction hinge
(4)
The operational test of the nonreaction hinge
(5)
The preparation for the removal of the elevator reaction hinge
(6)
The removal of the reaction hinge
(7)
The installation of the replacement reaction hinge
(8)
The operational test of the reaction hinge.
B.
Each of the elevator hinges can be replaced one at a time. If the replacement of two or more of the adjacent hinges are necessary, they must be replaced one at a time. No more than two nonadjacent hinges can be removed at one time.
C.
The removal and installation procedure is the same for the inboard or the outboard elevator hinges.
D.
The hinges at the elevator power control packages (PCPs) are identified as the inboard and outboard elevator reaction hinges. The remaining hinges are identified as nonreaction hinges and have numbers from 1 to
