If the aft ends of the bars touch the higher bolts in the elevator hinge plates, do these steps: 1) Make sure that the bolt head is in the empty space of the
PCP. 2) Make sure there is only one washer below the bolt head.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE HOISTS IN THE KEYHOLE SLOTS
_______ CORRECTLY. THE HOISTS CAN DISENGAGE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR AND ITS PCP.

Make sure that the hoists engage in the keyhole slots on the bars.

_______ PACKAGE REMOVAL. THE CONTROL PACKAGE WEIGHS 200 POUNDS AND CAN EASILY TURN OVER WHEN YOU MOVE IT DOWN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove the inboard elevator PCP (Fig. 202):
(a)
Use the spanner wrench adapter,ST2580-267-24 or ST2580-267-32, to remove the actuator bolt (16) of the inboard elevator PCP.
(b)
Use the torque wrench adapter, MIT60B80550, to remove the four bolts (12) that attach the trunnion of the inboard elevator PCP to the stabilizer rear spar.
(c)
Disengage the sling from the structure:
1) Loosen the sling and manually move the inboard elevator PCP at an angle down and aft.
