Make sure that the lockwasher (5) is installed.

Put the hinge bolt (6) through the lockwasher.
(i)
Apply a layer of grease to the bolt shank.
(j)
Install the hinge bolt through the hinge fittings and hinge with the head outboard.
(k)
Install the washer (8) and the nut (7) on the hinge bolt.
(l)
If it is necessary, install the large washers (4) to keep a clearance of 0.01-0.06 inch.
(m)
Use a bonding meter to make sure the resistance of the bonding jumper connection is less than 0.010 ohms.
(n)
Tighten the inboard elevator nuts to 290-410 pound-inches torque plus run-on torque.
(o)
Tighten the outboard elevator nuts to 95-110 pound-inches plus run on torque.
(3)
Install the hinge access panel.
(4)
Manually move the elevator to the neutral position.
