(2)
Do a check on the control column neutral position and travel:
(a)
Install the rig pin E-2 at the bottom of the aft quadrant.
(b)
Use the adjustable protractor to find the angle of the floor: 1) Set the protractor parallel to the airplane centerline. 2) Find the angle of the floor in the flat location adjacent
to the control columns.
(c)
Attach the protractor to the forward or aft face of the captain's control column with a clamp.
(d)
Set the control column in the neutral detent.
(e)
Make sure that the control column angle is 7.28-9.28 degrees forward of the line normal to the floor.
(f)
Make sure that the COLUMN position on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page is 0 | 1.0 degree.
(g)
Decrease the AUX 1 and 2 pitot system pressure to ambient.
(h)
Remove the rig pin E-2.
(i)
Move the control columns forward to stop and hold. 1) Make sure that the control column angle is 11.5-13.5 degrees forward from the neutral position.
2) Make sure that the COLUMN position on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page is 12.5 | 1.0 degrees down.
(j)
Move the control columns aft to stop and hold. 1) Make sure that the control column angle is 11.67-13.67 degrees aft of the control column neutral position.
2) Make sure that the COLUMN position on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page is 12.67 | 1.0 degrees up.
S 225-079
(3)
Do a check on the elevator travel (inboard and outboard).
(a)
Move the control columns forward to stop and hold.
1) Make sure that the inboard elevator travel is 28.29-29.30 inches.
NOTE: The inboard elevator travel is measured diagonally
____ between the trailing edge tip and the body index plate.

(4)
Do a check on the breakout forces of the control column with the spring scale:
(a)
