Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches to CUTOUT.

E. Adjust the Stabilizer Hinge

(1)
Measure the distance d.
(a)
Measure the distance d between the inboard face of the stabilizer hinge fitting (16) and the hinge support fitting (14) at the same locations on the left and right sides of the airplane.
(b)
Adjust the stabilizer hinges until the distances d on the left and right sides agree in |0.030 inch (|0.76 millimeter).

Adjust the hinges.
(a)
Make sure the adjustment screw (6) and the outer nut (22) are loosened sufficiently to permit the necessary lateral movement of the stabilizer.
