Pressurize the auxiliary pitot static systems No. 1 and 2 to 2.50 +/- 0.10 psi (or 317 +/- 10 knots IAS. Note: reference static pressure to ambient pressure.)(Ref 34-11-00/201).

(5)
Do a check of the inboard elevator adjustment:
(a)
If the trailing edge of the inboard elevator align in the tolerances of | 0.40 inches of the groove in the elevator index plate, the rig adjustment is correct. 1) If the rig adjustment is not correct, adjust the inboard
elevator PCP.
S 835-039
(6) Adjust the inboard elevator:
NOTE: The installations of the two inboard elevator PCPs are the
____ same. The procedure given below is applicable to either PCP.
(a)
Measure the distance of the trailing edge of the inboard elevator from the index plate groove.
(b)
If the distance is less than 1.24 inches, do the close adjustment: 1) Loosen the two checknuts at the adjustable end of the rod. 2) Turn the adjustment sleeve until the distance from the
elevator trailing edge to the index plate groove is +/-0.05 inch.
NOTE: One half turn of the adjustment sleeve gives 0.19
____ inch movement of the elevator trailing edge.
(c) If the distance is more than 1.24 inches, adjust the length of the input rod: 1) Set all the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461
Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.
NOTE: The inboard elevators can slowly move down with
____
the hydraulic power off.
2) Open these circuit breakers on the P180 DC Power Distribution Panel and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: a) 180E7 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2 b) 180E22 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 4 c) 180H8 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 1 d) 180H23 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3

3) Remove the nuts, washers, and bolt assembly to disconnect the inboard end of the input rod from the crank. a) Hold the input rod clear of the crank.
4) Loosen the checknuts if it is necessary 5) Turn the clevis or the clevis and the sleeve together to get the nearest possible adjustment.
NOTE: One half turn of the clevis gives 0.56 inch of
____ movement at the trailing edge of the elevators; one half turn of the clevis and the sleeve together gives 0.74 inch of movement.
6) Align the rod clevis with the idler lever: a) Install the bolt assembly with the bolt head up. b) Install the washer and the larger nut on the outer
bolt. c) Tighten the larger nut to 60-80 pound-inches. d) Install the washer and the smaller nut. e) Tighten the smaller nut to 34-40 pound-inches.
NOTE: Do not tighten the larger nut again after you
____ tightened the smaller nut.
7) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers on the P180 DC Power Distribution Panel: a) 180E7 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2 b) 180E22 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 4 c) 180H8 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 1 d) 180H23 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3
8) Set all the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to NORM.
(d)
Continue with the close adjustment, if it is necessary.
(e)
Tighten the checknuts to 350-500 pound-inches.
S 225-040
(7)
Make sure the adjustable end of the input rod of the inboard elevator PCP is not extended more than the limits (Fig. 504).
S 865-041
(8)
If the hydraulic power is not necessary, do this task: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
