 (i)  
Measure the run-on torque of the nut.

 (j)  
Tighten the nut to 1000-1200 pound-inches more than the run-on torque.


 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO CHANGE THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE INPUT
_______ CONTROL ROD. IF THERE IS A CHANGE, A CHECK OF THE AILERON ADJUSTMENT IS THEN NECESSARY TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (k)  
Connect the summing lever (10) to the input control rod (7) with a bolt (8), and washers (9).

 (l)  
Remove the caps from hydraulic hoses and ports (3) on the power control package (1).

 (m)  
Connect the hydraulic hoses to the pressure and return ports (3) on the power control package (1).

 (n)  
Remove the aileron lock.

 (2)  
For the applicable system, remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P180 DC power Distribution Panel
 1) 180H7 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 1
 2) 180E6 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 2
 3) 180H22 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 3
 4) 180E21 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 4

 (3)  Move the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - WING VALVE switches No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the P461 Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel to NORM.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  Do this task: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
 NOTE:____Hydraulic system No. 4 for the flaps. Hydraulic systems No. 1 and 2 for the left power control package. Hydraulic systems No. 3 and 4 for the right power control package.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (5)
Extend the outboard trailing edge flaps to the 5-unit position.

Operate the aileron control wheel through a minimum of two full cycles to bleed the system.

 (7)  
Examine the hydraulic connections of the power control package for leaks.

 (8)  
Make sure the aileron moves from neutral to full up or full down in approximately 1 second when you operate the control wheel.

 (a)  
If there is no change in the adjustment of the input control rod, dimension checks are not necessary.

 (b)  
If there is a change in the adjustment of the input control rod, do a check of the aileron adjustment (27-11-00/501).

Retract the flaps.
