Attach the safety device to the receptacle on the top surface of the horizontal stabilizer.

Apply external power to the AC buses (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.

Pressurize the hydraulic system No. 2 (left stabilizer trim), or 3 (right stabilizer trim) (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Use the STAB TRIM ALTN switches to move the stabilizer to the neutral position (3 units of trim) (AMM 27-41-00/201).

Release the pressure in the hydraulic system No. 2 (left stabilizer trim), or 3 (right stabilizer trim) (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(7)
Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on the control stand to CUTOUT.

Remove the Inboard Elevator

Attach the sling assembly:
(a)
Remove bolts at the hoist points.
(b)
Install the sling assembly at the hoist points on the inboard elevator (Fig. 401).
(c)
Lift the sling sufficiently to hold the 550 pound weight of the inboard elevator.

Remove the inboard elevator:
(a)
Make sure the inboard elevator PCP is attached to the structure.
