 (b)  Make sure the left shutoff valve is open: 1) Set the STAB TRIM 3 switch to ON. 2) Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the captain's control wheel
 to NOSE DN. 3) Make sure the stabilizer position indicators move to APL
 NOSE DN. 4) Release the STAB TRIM switches. 5) Set the STAB TRIM 3 switch to CUTOUT.
 (c)  Make sure the right shutoff valve is open: 1) Set the STAB TRIM 2 switch to ON. 2) Hold the STAB TRIM switches to NOSE DN. 3) Make sure the stabilizer position indicators move to APL
 NOSE DN. 4) Release the STAB TRIM switches.

Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches to CUTOUT.

Operate the STAB TRIM ALTN switches to APL NOSE UP and APL NOSE DN three times.

 (b)  Attach the DO-NOT-MOVE tags to the STAB TRIM ALTN switches on the control stand.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7E6, STAB TRIM L CONT
 2) 7E7, STAB TRIM L S/O VLV
 3) 7E19, STAB TRIM R CONT
 4) 7E20, STAB TRIM R S/O VLV

If the electrical power is not necessary, do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Open the access door 312A (AMM 06-09-05/201).

Remove the shutoff valve (18):

 (a)  
Disconnect the electrical connector DB188C or DB189C from the shutoff valve (18).

 (b)  
Move the manual override lever to position 2.

 (c)  
Remove the screws (19) that attach the electric motor (16) to the shutoff valve (18).

 (d)  
Remove the electric motor (16) from the shutoff valve (18).

If there is an identification plate (17) on the electric motor (16), remove the identification plate (17).

 (a)  
Keep the identification plate (17) for installation on the replacement electric motor.
