Remove the elevator aft quadrant (4):
(a)
Disconnect the control rods (8) from the control crank (7).
(b)
Disconnect the input control rods of the elevator autopilot servo module from the elevator aft quadrant (4).
(c)
Disconnect the feel unit control rod (3) from the bearing arm and feel unit crank (2) .
(d)
Remove the bolt (16) that connects the bearing arm (6) to the lower support structure (5).
(e)
Remove the bolt (13) that connects the bearing arm and feel unit crank (2) to the upper support structure (1).
(f)
Move and lift the aft quadrant (4) until it is clear of the structure.

Install the elevator aft quadrant (4):
(a)
Align the lower end of the aft quadrant (4) to the lower support structure (5).

(b) Install the bolt (16), the washers and the nuts (14, 15).
NOTE: Do not tighten the nuts (14, 15).

(c)
Align the upper end of the aft quadrant (4) to the upper support structure (1).
(d)
Install the bolt (13), the washers, and the nuts (11 and 12): 1) Tighten the outer nut (12) to 60-80 pound-inches. 2) Tighten the inner nut (11) to 30-40 pound-inches.
NOTE: Do not try to set the outer nut (12) again.

Tighten the outer nut (15) 60-80 pound-inches.
(f)
Tighten the inner nut (14) 30-40 pound-inches.
NOTE: Do not try to set the outer nut (15) again.
