 (b)  Try to install the rig pin E-2 at the bottom of the elevator aft quadrant. 1) If you cannot install the rig pin, adjust the elevator feel
 unit.

_______ YOU PRESSURIZE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. THE ELEVATORS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task to pressurize the hydraulic systems No. 2 and 3: "Supply Hydraulic System" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Pressurize the auxiliary pitot-static systems No.1 and 2 to 2.50 +/-


0.10 psi (or 317 +/- 10 knots IAS. Note: reference staticpressure to ambient pressure.) (Ref 34-11-00/201).

Set all the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to NORM.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P180 DC Power Distribution Panel
 1) 180E7 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2
 2) 180H23 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3

 Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on the control stand to ON.

 Move the elevator aft quadrant around to make sure the elevator feel unit is in the center.

 Adjust the elevator feel unit:

 (a)  
Adjust the control rod (between crank of the feel unit input and the bearing arm of the aft quadrant) until you can install the rig pin E-2 into the aft quadrant freely. 1) If you cannot install rig pin E-2, do the close adjustment:


 a) Loosen the checknuts.

 b)  Turn the sleeve until you can install the rig pin E-2
 2)  If you did the close adjustment and cannot install the rig pin E-2, do the coarse adjustment: a) Remove the bolt assembly that connects the rod clevis
 to the bearing arm of the aft quadrant. b) Install the rig pin E-2 in the aft quadrant. c) Loosen the checknuts. d) Adjust the clevis and/or the sleeve to make the clevis
 align with the bearing. e) Remove the rig pin E-2 from the aft quadrant. f) Apply a thin layer of grease on the clevis bolt
 assembly. g) Install the clevis bolt assembly with the bolt head up. h) Turn the sleeve until you can install the rig pin
 easily by hand. i) Tighten the two checknuts on the rod. j) Make sure that you can move the rig pin freely. k) Install the washer and nut on the outer bolt of the
 clevis bolt assembly. l) Tighten the nut on the outer bolt to 85-100 pound-inches. m) Install the washer and nut on the inner bolt of the clevis bolt assembly. n) Tighten the nut on the inner bolt to 30-40 pound-inches.
 NOTE: Do not tighten the outer nut again.

 o) Do a close adjustment, if it is necessary. 3) Make sure the control rod sleeve and the clevis are not extended more than the limits (Fig. 501). 4) Tighten the checknuts to 300-450 pound-inches.

 (13) Release the pressure of the auxiliary pitot-static systems (Ref 34-11-00/201).
