A. There are two tasks in this procedure. The first task is the removal of the elevator index plate. The second task is the installation of the elevator index plate. Left and right removal/installations are the same.

Supply hydraulic power to hydraulic system No. 2 and 3 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Align the horizontal stabilizer with the index mark (Fig. 401 View B-B).

Set the STAB TRIM HYD NO. 2 and 3 switches on control stand to OFF position.

Move the control column to neutral position.

Make sure that the inboard elevators trailing edge aligns with index plate within 0.04 inches.
