 STALL WARNING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This task is an operational test of the stall warning system. You will use a CMC test to do a ground check of the stall warning system. Both control column shakers will energize during a successful test.
 B.  The CMC test checks the following: checks for all signal inputs and outputs from the stall warning card. This test includes collecting the following data from other LRUs:
 (1)  
FLAP CONTROL UNIT for flap position data

 (2)  
PROXIMITY SWITCH ELECTRONICS UNIT for air/gnd data

 (3)  
FLIGHT MANAGEMENT COMPUTER for airspeed data

 (4)  
INERTIA REFERENCE UNIT for pitch angle, body pitch rate and body acceleration

 (5)  
AIR DATA COMPUTER for angle of attack, true airspeed, mach number, computed airspeed and vmo/mmo maximum operating speed.

 C.  
For a successful test the SMC output then enables the shaker to vibrate the two control columns. The test fails if the column shakers do not operate. This is part of the "full" BITE test run in this procedure.

 (b)  
Integrated Display System (IDS) is serviceable (AMM 31-61-00/501).

 (c)  
Inertial Reference System (IRS) is serviceable (AMM 34-21-00/501).

 D.
Prepare for the Test

 S 865-015
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Set the IRS L, C, and R switches on the IRS mode select unit (P5 panel) to ATT or NAV.

 (a)  
Make sure that the ATT flag does not show on the captain's or the first officer's PFD.

Prepare the CDU for the test:

 (a)  
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.

 (b)  
Push the line-select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.

 (c)  
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.

 (d)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.

 (e)  
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <27 STALL WARNING.

 (f)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <27 STALL WARNING to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the stall warning system.

 NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above the applicable prompt
____ (<STALL LEFT or <STALL RIGHT), the test will not operate.
 E. Stall Warning System Ground Test
 S 745-025
 (1)  Push the LSK that is adjacent to the applicable prompt
 (<STALL LEFT or <STALL RIGHT).

 NOTE: IN PROGRESS will show during the test.

 (a)  
Make sure that the two control column shakers operate.

 (b)  
Make sure that the two control column shakers stop after approximately 10 seconds.

 (c)  
When the CDU shows "DID THE STICK SHAKER ACTIVATE FOR GREATER THAN 5 SECONDS?", push the applicable LSK for YES or NO.
