Make sure the pointers on the surface position display of the EICAS status page are approximately at the mid-scale mark.

Do the operational test of the elevator position indicating system:
(a)
Push the control column full forward. 1) Make sure the pointers move to the lower scale mark.
(b)
Pull the control column full aft. 1) Make sure the pointers move to the higher scale mark.
(c)
Release the control column.
1) Make sure the pointers move approximately to the mid-scale mark.
