Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7E7, L STAB TRIM S/O VLV
2) 7E20, R STAB TRIM S/O VLV

Open the access door 312A (AMM 06-09-05/201).

Disconnect the hydraulic lines H1, H2, and H3 at the hydraulic brake (4).

If you replace the hydraulic brake (4) with a new unit, remove the adapter (6).
(a)
Keep the adapter (6) for the installation of the hydraulic brake.

Seal all hydraulic lines with plugs and all ports with caps.

Remove the hydraulic brake (4):
(a)
Remove the fasteners (3).
(b)
Disengage the hydraulic brake (4) from the differential brake shaft.
(c)
Lift the hydraulic brake (4) vertically.
(d)
Remove the hydraulic brake (4).
(e)
Remove the O-rings (1) and discard them.

Install the Hydraulic Brakes
S 144-011
(1)
Clean open areas of the differential brake shaft.
S 644-012
(2)
Apply a large quantity of grease (BMS 3-33 or MIL-G-23827) to the open areas of the differential brake shaft.
(3)
Install a new O-ring (1) on the differential brake shaft (2).

(4)
Make sure the mating surfaces of the brake mounting flange and the bull gear housing cover are clean.

(5)
Align the brake mounting flange with the studs.
(a)
Engage the internal brake shaft splines with the splines on the differential brake shaft.
