3. Operational Test - Stabilizer Trim Elevator Control Actuated Limit Switches___________________________________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This task is an operational test of the actuated limit switches. To do this test, you will operate the stabilizer trim control system. During the test, it is necessary to monitor the stabilizer trim indicators to examine the operation of the actuated limit switches.
(2)
All the actuated limit switches are on the same bracket. You must do the operational test for the actuated limit switches after the adjustment.

Open the third middle ceiling panel forward of the No. 1 door for access to elevator controls.

Install the rig pin E-1 at the elevator forward quadrant.

Measure the control column angle at the neutral position:
(a)
Attach the protractor against the front or the rear of the control column.
(b)
Put the protractor bubble in the center.
(c)
Measure the control column angle.

Remove the rig pin E-1 from the elevator forward quadrant.

Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

YOU PRESSURIZE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. THE ELEVATORS CAN MOVE
QUICKLY TO THE NEUTRAL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.

Do this task to pressurize the hydraulic systems No. 2 and 3: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Set the stabilizer at about mid travel.

Do a test of the actuated limit switch:
(a)
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the control wheel to NOSE DN.
1) While the stabilizers move, pull the control column aft carefully until the actuated limit switch stops the stabilizer travel.
2) Hold the control column in this position. 3) Make sure that the stabilizer trim indicators on the control stand do not show 0.80 units of trim.
(b)
Do these steps to measure the control column displacement from the neutral position: 1) Put the protractor bubble in the center 2) Measure the control column angle at this position. 3) Make sure the difference between the control column angles
at the neutral and aft positions is 3.7-5.5 degrees.
(c)
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the control wheel to NOSE UP.
1) While the stabilizers move, push the control column forward carefully until the actuated limit switch stops the stabilizer travel.
