 S 424-005
 (1)  
Install the hydraulic fuse (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Remove the reducer from each end of the removed fuse.

 (b)  
Lubricate the O-rings with hydraulic fluid or assembly lubricant.

 (c)  
Install the reducers on the replacement fuse with the O-rings.


 NOTE: The leading edge fuse (retract) is connected to the
____ check valve. Make sure to reinstall the check valve with the flow direction aft.
 (d)  Put the fuse in its position.
 NOTE: The flow direction arrow must agree with the arrow
____ on the pressure bulkhead.
 (e)  Tighten the inlet and outlet lines.

 (2)  
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems A and B: "Leading Edge Flaps and Slats Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization" (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Make sure there are no leaks.

Do this task if it is necessary to depressurize hydraulic systems A and B: "Leading Edge Flaps and Slats Hydraulic Systems A, B and Standby Depressurization" (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Reset the Hydraulic Fuses (System B)


 S 864-008
 (1)  
Make sure the flap control lever is in the FLAP UP detent.

 S 864-009

 (2)  
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems A and B: "Leading Edge Flaps and Slats Hydraulic Systems A, B and Standby Depressurization" (Ref 27-81-00/201).


 S 034-010
 WARNING:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE B-NUT. HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN SPRAY ON YOU AND CAUSE INJURY.
 (3)  Between the hydraulic fuse and check valve upstream, loosen the B-nut sufficiently to bleed off the hydraulic fluid into a container.
 NOTE: Each fuse will reset (gets open) automatically when hydraulic
____ pressure on both sides of fuse is equalized within 5 psi for ten seconds.
 S 434-011
 (4)  
Tighten the B-nut after you put the hydraulic fuse back to the open position.

Make sure there are no leaks.
