 Measure and calculate the average mismatch:

 (a)  
Measure the mismatch at six equally spaced locations for each of the following specified areas:


 NOTE: There will be a total of 24 locations on each wing

 that you will need to measure.

 1) Slat end to adjacent slat end (6 + 6= 12 locations). 2) The outboard end of slats 1 or 6 to the fixed leading edge (6 locations). 3) The inboard end of slats 3 or 4 to the fixed leading edge (6 locations).
 (b)  Multiply by -0.5 (convert negative values to positive) any or all negative mismatch measurements found on each location (See Fig. 503 for negative mismatch). 1) Add the six mismatch values for each location. 2) Divide the total mismatch value by 6 to get an average for
 each location.

 Install the leading edge slat actuator locks when you adjust the leading edge slats with the actuator connected (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Align the noses of the slats to get a mismatch of 0.000-0.0600 inch between adjacent slats. 1) If it is necessary, remove upstop shim to adjust mismatch.


 Tighten all the upstop bolts.

 (25) Make sure the clearance between the slat upper trailing edge and the fixed leading edge is 0.0 to 0.06 inch at the slat ends. If necessary, do the steps that follow:
 NOTE: Measure the clearance at 0.75 to 1.0 inch from the inboard
____ and outboard end of the slats.
 (a)  If you cannot get a clearance of 0.0 to 0.06 inch at the slat ends, adjust as follows: 1) Up to a maximum of one (1) additional turn can be made to
 each aft lower auxiliary track support to get the required clearance.
