D.
Procedure
S 735-025
(1)
Do a test on the alternate system operation of the leading edge flaps and slats:
(a)
Make sure that the flap control lever is in the FLAP UP detent.
NOTE: You can open the circuit breakers of the alternate
____ trailing edge flap drive motor to prevent an electrical operation of the trailing edge.
(b) Set the alternate flap arm switch to the ARM position. 1) Make sure the STANDBY HYD LOW PRESSURE light comes on.

2) Make sure the standby hydraulic pump starts.
3) Make sure the STANDBY HYD LOW PRESSURE light goes off.
4) Make sure that the bypass valve of the trailing edge flap
moves to the position 2 (aft). 5) Make sure that the leading edge flaps and slats do not extend.
NOTE: This is to make sure that the leading edge standby
____ drive shutoff valve is in the correct position.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THE LEADING EDGE CONTROL SURFACES WILL EXTEND. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD FAN DUCT COWLS AND
_______ THE THRUST REVERSERS ARE CLOSED OR COMPLETELY REMOVED BEFORE YOU EXTEND THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THERE IS NOT SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE FOR THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AN SLATS TO EXTEND IF THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD FAN DUCT COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSERS ARE IN THE OPEN (MAINTENANCE) POSITION. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ALTERNATE FLAP DRIVE UNIT IS LIMITED TO
_______ 4 MINUTES OPERATION AND 25 MINUTES OFF. FAILURE TO DO THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE UNIT.
(c) Set the alternate flap control switch to DOWN.
1) Make sure that the leading edge flaps and slats fully
extend in 53 |4 seconds from the time the flaps and slats
start to move.
(d) Set the alternate flap arm switch to OFF.
1) Make sure that the standby hydraulic pump stops.
2) Make sure that the bypass valve of the trailing edge moves
to the position 1 (forward).
3) Make sure that the leading edge flaps and slats fully
retract.
NOTE:____ The flaps and slats retract because hydraulic system
B is pressurized.
(e) Release the pressure from the hydraulic system B
(Ref 27-81-00/201).
(f) Set the alternate flap arm switch to the ARM position.
(g) Make sure that the low pressure light of the standby hydraulic
system is off.
(h) Monitor the leading edge flaps and slats for 60 seconds.

(i)
Make sure that the flaps and slats do not extend. NOTE: It is possible that the leading edge flaps will slowly
____
extend because of gravity.
(j)
Set the alternate flap arm switch to the OFF position. NOTE: You need to close the circuit breakers of the alternate
____ trailing edge flap drive motor if they are opened at the start of the test.
E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition S 865-020
(1)
