 (5)  
Remove the leading edge flap:

 (a)  
On all the flap nose linkages but the inboard linkage of the inboard flap, disconnect the flap nose links from the lugs.

 (b)  
Do these steps for the inboard linkage of the inboard flap.


 1)  If the replacement of the flap nose link is not necessary, do these steps: a) Disconnect the flap nose link from the crank on the
 flap panel. b) Let the flap nose link stay installed on the wing.
 2)  If the replacement of the flap nose link is necessary, do these steps: a) Remove the landing light lens from the wing leading
 edge (AMM 33-42-21/401). b) Disconnect the flap nose link from the lug in the wing.
 (c)  
Disconnect the flap actuator from the flap panel.

 (d)  
Disconnect the bonding jumpers.

 (e)  
On the inboard hinge of the inboard flap, do these steps if the replacement of the hinge fitting is not necessary: 1) Remove the two bolts to disconnect the hinge fitting from

 the flap panel. 2) Let the hinge fitting stay installed in the wing.

 (f)  
On the inboard hinge of the inboard flap, do these steps if the replacement of the hinge fitting is necessary: 1) Remove the landing light lens from the wing leading edge

 and forward wing to the body fairing. 2) Remove the hinge bolt.

 (g)  
Hold the flap while you remove all the remaining flap hinge bolts.

 (h)
