 FLAP LIMIT SWITCHES - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure. There is an adjustment and a functional test of the flap limit switches. The limit switches included in these tasks are the FLAPS UP and the FLAPS DOWN switches. These two switches and five other flap position switches are installed on the forward part of the flap control unit.

Prepare for the Adjustment

 (1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Do this task: "Hydraulic System B Pressurization"
 (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 (3)  
If the flaps are extended, put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 S 865-005

 (4)  
Stop for 2 minutes with hydraulic system B pressurized and the flap control lever in the UP detent.


 NOTE:____The flap power unit can move during this time. The movement will be small, and will be different on different airplanes.

 (5)  S 865-006Do this task: "Hydraulic System B Depressurization" (Ref 27-51-00/201).
 (6)  S 015-007Do this task: "Inboard Flap Track Fairing Removal" (Ref 27-51-32/401).
 NOTE:____ You can remove the No. 4 or the No. 5 flap track fairing. The procedure refers to the No. 4 fairing and ballscrew. You can use the No. 4 or the No. 5 ballscrew to do the adjustment.
 (7)  S 225-008Measure the Dimension X at the No. 4 ball screw (Fig. 502). (a) Write down this dimension as X1.
