Remove the caps from the hydraulic ports.
(c)
Install the O-rings and the unions in the actuator.

Install the spoiler actuator (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the actuator in its position and make sure the hydraulic lines align with the fittings.
(b)
Install the mounting bolt for the piston rod end with the head outboard.
(c)
Apply the grease to the split ball bearings.
(d)
Assemble the split ball bearings in the pillow block.
(e)
Make sure the ball bearings move freely.
(f)
Put the pillow blocks on the actuator.
(g)
Install the mounting bolts for the pillow block.
(h)
Tighten the bolts to 225-275 pound-inches.
(i)
Install the washer and locknut on the bolt in the piston rod end.
(j)
Tighten the nut to 660-780 pound-inches.
(k)
Install the bracket on the actuator with the two bolts. 1) Install the lockwire on the bolts.

Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator:
(a)
Make sure that the hydraulic system A is not pressurized.
(b)
Remove the plugs from the hydraulic lines.
(c)
Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator.
(d)
Tighten the hydraulic fittings.

Pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref 29-09-00/201).

Put the SPOILER A and B switches in the OFF position.

Supply the system A hydraulic power (Ref 27-62-00/201).

Move the speed brake control lever to bleed the spoiler actuators.

Make sure there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid at the actuator.
