Procedure

(1)
Install the leading edge flap:
(a)
Do these steps if you install the inboard flap. 1) If you install used inboard hinge, remove the inboard hinge fitting from the inboard flap. 2) If you install used flap nose link, remove the flap nose link from the crank on the flap panel.
3) Remove the bulb seal installed between the inboard and outboard flap noses.
NOTE: The bulb seal is installed with five screws and a

retainer plate.
(b)
Adjust the center-to-center length of the flap nose links on the flap panel.
(c)
Install lockwire on the adjustment nuts.
(d)
Lift the flap panel to the wing.
(e)
Find the hinges in the fixed leading edge.
(f)
Install the hinge bolts on the inboard flap.
1) If you install a used hinge fitting, connect the fitting to the flap panel. a) Align the bolt holes in the hinge fitting and the flap.

b) Install the shims with wet primer between the clevis of
the hinge fitting and the lug on the flap.
NOTE:____ The shim thickness on one of the two sides of
the lug must not be more than 0.070 inch.
c) Install the bolts, washers, and nuts with wet primer.
d) Tighten the nuts.
2) Install the bolts at hinge locations D and G.
a) Make sure the bolt hole at hinge H aligns with a
maximum tolerance of 0.015 inch.
b) Make sure the bolt holes at hinge E and F align with a
maximum tolerance of 0.03 inch.
3) Install a bolt at the hinge location E or F.
a) Make sure the maximum tolerance for the remaining holes
not to align is 0.015 inch.
4) Install the remaining bolts at hinge locations E or F and
H.
5) Tighten the hinge bolts to the specified torque values in
Table A (Fig. 401).
6) Install the cotter pins.
Install the hinge bolts on the outboard flap.
1) Make sure the center bolt hole aligns to a tolerance of
0.015 inch with the two end hinge bolts installed. 2) Tighten the hinge bolts to the specified torque values in
Table A (Fig. 401). 3) Install the cotter pins.Install the bonding jumpers at the outboard hinge of each flap panel.Install the bonding jumpers at the inboard hinge on the inboard flap panel.Use the milliohmmeter to make sure there is a maximum of 0.010 ohms across the bonding jumpers.Connect the flap actuator to the lug on the flap panel.Apply corrosion preventive compound to the bolt before installation.Tighten the nut to 660-780 pound-inches.Install the cotter pin.At all loctions but the inboard flap nose linkage of the inboard flap, install the flap nose link: 1) Connect the ends of the flap nose links to the lugs in the
