 WARNING:_______ CAREFULLY INSTALL THE LEADING EDGE SLAT ACTUATOR LOCKS.  THE
 LEADING EDGE SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE
 LOCKS CORRECTLY.  THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
 EQUIPMENT.

 Install the leading edge slat actuator locks when you adjust the leading edge slats with the actuator connected (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 Move the flap control lever to the FLAPS UP position to retract the slats.

 Set the auxiliary track aft adjustment to get these clearances between the lower surface of the slat upper trailing edge to the fixed leading edge:


 (a)  0.002 to 0.008 inch measured at the high point of the fixed
 leading edge.
 NOTE:____ Use a 8.5 |0.5 inch band centered on the auxiliary track
 center line to find the high point.
 1)  To measure the gap, put a feeler gage to a depth of
 0.50 +0.10/-0.10 inch between the slat upper trailing edge
 and the fixed leading edge.
 (b)  AIRPLANES WITH WASHERS BELOW THE UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT BOLT HEAD;
 For slats 1, 3, 4 and 6, the permitted clearance is 0.00 to
 0.06 inch measured at the inboard and outboard ends of the
 slats.
 (c)  AIRPLANES WITH SHIMS BELOW THE UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT BOLT HEAD;
 The permitted clearance is 0.00 to 0.06 inch measured at a
 point 0.75 to 1.00 inch from the inboard and outboard ends of
 the slats.
 1)  If you cannot get a clearance of 0.00 to 0.06 inch at the
 slat ends, adjust the slats in the retracted position:
 a)  Turn the aft lower auxiliary track clevis nut a maximum
 of one additional turn to bring the slat ends to 0.00
 to 0.06 inch tolerance.

 Tighten the nut on the lower aft support lock bolt to 90-125 pound-inches.
