2) While the flaps and slats start to retract, look at the center instrument panel. a) Make sure the green LE FLAPS EXT light goes off. b) Make sure the amber LE FLAPS TRANSIT light comes on.
3) When each flap and slat is in the up and retracted position, look at the annunciator panel. a) Make sure the related amber TRANSIT light goes off. b) Make sure no green lights come on.

4) While the last flap or slat locks in the up position, look at the center instrument panel. a) Make sure the amber LE FLAPS TRANSIT light goes off.
NOTE: If the lights operate correctly with hydraulic
____ pressure applied, ignore the amber light indications which can occur if hydraulic pressure is removed.
b) Make sure no green lights come on.
E. Do a Test of the Leading Edge Flap and Slat for the Usual Operation Time

Make sure the parking brake is set.

Do a test on the usual operation time of the leading edge flap and slat with the steps that follow:
NOTE: Watch the slats and start the stopwatch at the time of
____ initial movement or time the annunciator lights from the time they go "amber" to the time they go "green".
(a)
Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent. 1) Make sure that the leading edge flaps fully extension time is between 3 and 5 seconds.
2) Make sure that the slats are at the intermediate position in 4 to 6 seconds.
(b)
Move the flap control lever to the 10-unit detent.
1) Make sure that all the slats fully extend in 2 to 4 seconds.
(c)
Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent.
(d)
Move the flap control lever back to the 10-unit detent.
1) Make sure there is no change in the position of the leading edge flap or slat or the indicator lights.
(e)
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent.
1) Make sure that all the slats are at the intermediate position in 2.5 to 4.5 seconds.
(f)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent.
1) Make sure that the leading edge flaps and slats retract in 3 to 5 seconds.

Do a test on the alternate system operation of the leading edge flaps and slats (paragraph 5).

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
(1)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
