 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject contains two tasks. The first task is an operational test of the leading edge autoslat system. The second task is a system test of the leading edge autoslat system.

_______ TRAILING EDGE FLAPS EXTEND. THE SLATS WILL AUTOMATICALLY EXTEND TO FULL DOWN FOR TRAILING EDGE EXTEND POSITIONS 1, 2 OR 5 WHEN AN AUTOSLAT ANGLE OF AIRFLOW VANE IS CORRECTLY ROTATED AND EITHER MAIN OR NOSE GEAR AIR/GROUND SWITCH SENSES AIR MODE.

Move the No. 1 and 2 thrust levers to the aft stops.

Make sure that the TE flaps and the LE flaps and slats are fully retracted.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) PTU CONTROL VALVE
 2) STBY HYD PUMP ALT
 3) STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL


 (b)  
P18 Panel
 1) LEFT ALPHA VANE HEATER
 2) RIGHT ALPHA VANE HEATER

Do a check of the autoslat system indicator lights:

 (a)  
Push the AUTOSLAT FAIL light (P5 panel) and make sure that it comes on.

 (b)  
Hold the LIGHTS switch (P2 panel) to TEST and make sure that these lights come on: 1) Left and right MASTER CAUTION (P7 pilots' lightshield). 2) FLT CONT (P7 pilots' lightshield). 3) AUTOSLAT FAIL (P5 panel).

 (c)  
Set the LIGHTS switch (P2 panel) to BRT.

 (d)  
Push the RESET button on each autoslat computer (ASC).

 (e)  
Make sure that the PWR OK light on each ASC is on.

 (f)  
Make sure that all lights on each ASC except the PWR OK light are off.

 (g)  
Push the master caution RECALL button on the pilots' lightshield.

 (h)  
Make sure that the AUTOSLAT FAIL light is off.
