 (c)  A mismatch tolerance of 0.10 inch (maximum) is permitted
 between adjacent slats. A mismatch tolerance of 0.10 inch
 (maximum) is permitted between the slats and the adjacent
 structure. An average tolerance of 0.05-inch or less measured
 at six equal distances around the slat is also necessary.
 (d)  The distance between the slat upper trailing edge to the fixed
 leading edge is as follows:
 1) At the high point on the fixed leading edge, the distance
 is 0.002 to 0.008 inch.
 NOTE: Use a 8.5 +/- 0.5 inch band centered on the____
 auxiliary track centerline to find the high point.
 2) AIRPLANES WITH WASHERS BELOW THE UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT BOLT
 HEAD;
 At the inboard and outboard end of the slats, the distance
 is 0.00 to 0.06 inch.
 3) AIRPLANES WITH SHIMS BELOW THE UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT BOLT HEAD;
 The distance is 0.00 to 0.06 inch at a point 0.75 to 1.00
 inch from the inboard and outboard end of the slats.
 (e)  AIRPLANES WITH THE BLADE SEALS AND BULB SEALS;
 The distance between the adjacent slats and between the slats
 to the adjacent structure is 0.26 |0.06 inch.
 (f)  AIRPLANES WITH THE SPRING-LOADED SEALS;
 Do these checks:
 1) The distance between the adjacent slats is 0.26 +0.14/-0.06
 inch.
 2) The distance between the slats and the adjacent structure
 is 0.25 +0.15/-0.05 inch.
 (g)  AIRPLANES WITH WASHERS OR SHIMS BELOW THE UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT
 BOLT HEAD;
 The distance between the slat lower trailing edge to the panels
 of the fixed leading edge is 0.06 +0.12/-0.03 inch.
 (h)  AIRPLANES WITH BLADE SEALS AND BULB SEALS;
 Do these checks:
 1) The clearance of the slat end blade seal is 0.00 to 0.03
 inch maximum.
 2) The bulb seal compression is 0.15 |0.05 inch.
 (i)  AIRPLANES WITH SPRING LOADED SLAT END SEALS;
 The seals must touch the adjacent slats or the adjacent
 structure and be compressed 0.07 to 0.15 inch.

 (10)
 The leading edge slats are correctly adjusted if you get these conditions with the slat in the intermediate position with hydraulic power on (Fig. 505):

 (a)
A tolerance for alignment of 0.00 to 0.06 inch is permitted for adjacent slats.

 (b)
Measure the alignment at the nose of the slats.

 (c)
The distance between the lower surface of the slat upper trailing edge (TE) to the fixed leading edge (LE) is as follows: 1) At the high point on the fixed leading edge, the distance

 is 0.002 to 0.008 inch. 2) The distance is 0.00 to 0.06 inch at a point 0.75 to 1.00 inch from the inboard and outboard end of the slats.

 (d)
The distance between the adjacent slats is 0.30 +/- 0.10 inch.

 (11)
 The leading edge slats are correctly adjusted if you get these conditions with the slats in the fully extended position:

 (a)
The limits for surfaces that do not align are not necessary at the fully extended position.

 NOTE: Because of the design, the slats 1 and 6 will not align
____ with the adjacent slats by approximately 0.50 inch.
 (b)
The distance between the adjacent slats is 0.30 +/- 0.10 inch.

 (c)
The distance between the slat upper trailing edge to the fixed leading edge is as shown in Fig. 505, Table II.

 (d)
After the installation and adjustment of the slat, extend the slats to the landing position. Do a visual check for a 0.10 inch minimum clearance between the auxiliary track roller and the end of the auxiliary track. 1) If visual check is not possible, apply modeling clay to the

 end of the auxiliary track. Extend the slats. Do a check of the impressions made by the auxiliary arm roller to find the clearances.
